Privacy Policy

Last reviewed on 30 April 2026.

This policy explains what information Poule.net ("the site") collects when you visit, how that information is used and shared, and the choices you have. It applies to all pages under the poule.net domain.

Information collected automatically

When you visit a page, your browser sends standard request information that is logged for security and operational purposes — IP address, user agent, referring URL, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are retained for a limited operational period and are not used to build advertising profiles.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to understand how pages are read and which guides need work. Google sets cookies and processes data such as pseudonymous identifiers, approximate location (derived from IP), device characteristics and on-page interactions. Poule.net configures Analytics to anonymise IP addresses where supported and does not combine analytics data with advertising profiles. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy.

Advertising — Google AdSense and third-party vendors

Poule.net displays advertisements served by Google, including through the AdSense and DoubleClick networks. As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads on this and other sites you visit.

For full details see Google's advertising policies. The site's own use of cookies is described separately in the cookie policy.

Affiliate links

Some outbound product links are affiliate links. When you click them and complete a purchase on the destination site, that retailer may share a non-personalised confirmation that the purchase originated from Poule.net so a commission can be paid. Poule.net does not receive your name, address, payment details or order contents from affiliate networks.

Information you provide directly

If you contact the site by email, your email address and message content are received by the editorial inbox and used to reply, to keep a record of corrections, and — in the case of privacy or data requests — to verify your identity. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed for that purpose and then deleted.

How information is shared

Personal data is not sold. It is shared only with the service providers that make the site work — primarily Google (analytics, advertising, hosting infrastructure for some assets) — and only as needed for them to provide their service. It may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect the legal rights of the site or its readers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over personal data the site holds about you:

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@poule.net with the request and enough information for the site to identify you (typically the email address you used when contacting the site, or a description of the visit in question).

Children

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to the site, contact hello@poule.net and it will be deleted.

Data retention

Server access logs are retained for a short operational window. Analytics data is retained according to the configured Google Analytics retention period. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle the inquiry and any related corrections.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect the limited personal data the site processes, but no internet transmission is fully secure and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the site's practices change or when required by law. The "Last reviewed on" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the page for a reasonable period.
